Summer 2018 Brochure Out Now!
The Summer Season brochure is out now and packed with a selection of shows from ‘out of this world’ musical’s, chilling thrillers which’ll keep audiences on the very edge of their seats, as well as one night only shows.
From the team that brought you last summer’s smash hit One Man, Two Guv’nors, stand by for a high-octane musical that is truly out of this world with Return to the Forbidden Planet playing 9 August - 1 September. Inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest, the show is packed with classic hits such as Heard It Through The Grapevine, Young Girl, Great Balls of Fire and many more.
The West End and Broadway smash hit Hairspray which is as light and bouncy as bubblegum makes it’s Devonshire Park debut 2 – 7 July and is sure to be a wonderful setting for this smash-hit musical comedy juggernaut.
For the drama fans we have Dial M for Murder (12 – 21 July), the play that inspired the Alfred Hitchcock’s movie, The Nightmare Room (26 – 30 June) a modern twist on a short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, as well as The Scarlet Pimpernel (31 July – 4 August).
Opera returns to the Devonshire Park with Puccini’s glorious and heart-breaking Madama Butterfly (14 September) and Verdi’s tragic Parisian morality tale La Traviata (15 September).
Celebrated icons from the small screen are reunited live onstage as Des O’Connor and Jimmy Tarbuck (20 June) perform together for one night only in a show which promises music, laughter and lots of anecdotes from legendary careers.
There’s fun for little ones with a live stage show from The Teletubbies (5 – 6 September) and May half term welcomes a visit from the classic Alice in Wonderland (30 – 31 May) which has been wonderfully reimagined for the stage in this hilarious new family musical.
